Jaanus Leplaan
Jaanus lived and studied at the Tea and Zen Center in Taiwan from 2018 to 2023 and travelled to various famous tea regions in China, Taiwan and Japan. Jaanus has been a member of Global Tea Hut since 2012 and regularly serves tea at Teelise tea evenings in Tallinn Old Town.
The tea ceremony is a simple self-development practice that helps to create a sense of meditative presence and inner balance that we tend to lose in today’s fast-paced lives. Sitting in a circle on the floor on cushions or at a table, we take time together to come into presence and lightness behind a steaming teakettle. We put aside our screens and our smart devices for a while and drink tea harvested from China’s pristine forests in the simple way it has been done for thousands of years. After the tea, we will talk about the healthy effects of tea tea and tea ceremony on human health, and how to apply it to your daily life in simple and practical ways. The tea ceremony will be followed by a short introduction and a question and answer session.
