Rain Pärnaste
Rain is passionate about sauna and training. His earliest sauna memories are from his childhood, when he used to go to the smoke sauna in the countryside every week. Since then, he has been fascinated by the nature of the sauna – the hot, blazing heater and the enchanting aroma of the sauna baths. After all, the sauna is a place to enjoy a hot soak, a good laugh and a chat. But Rain offers sauna-goers more than just a hot bath and a chat. For the past seven years he has been introducing Estonian sauna culture and creating engaging sauna rituals for people, with whisking, relaxing sounds, honey scrub and invigorating herbal tea.
Offering different sauna experiences to groups, it usually turns out to be either a relaxing sauna ritual or an exhilarating one, with no shortage of emotions and laughter.
Kristina Paškevicius
Kristina is an experienced and trained sauna master and natural therapist and a great space creator and caretaker.
Sauna ritual
Sauna calms the mind and clears the thoughts. It is a place for spiritual and bodily purification. The most traditional is the Estonian sauna ritual of greeting the sauna spirits with salt, honey and incense, suitable for families, friends and work groups.
There are also special rituals for girls’ and stag nights, sensual sauna rituals for couples, solstice rituals, personalised two-weekly incense, etc. It is possible to create a sauna ritual that is unique to your group.
The sauna ritual with an introduction, ritual part and final breath and tea lasts about 3 hours.
Elis Seppius
Elis is a psychologist, therapist, sauna woman and guardian of the Estonian smoke sauna heritage. Over the past two years she has travelled in Estonia, Scandinavia and Poland, creating ceremonies in private and larger saunas, small gatherings and crowded festivals – all to follow her calling to create healing connections between people’s hearts and the sauna. This journey is designed to help us experience the powerful healing potential that every sauna can offer, if used consciously.
Elis himself says: “The saunas in our homes are like tiny chapels in an Estonian forest cathedral.” says Elis Elis. These small, modest and private buildings offer everything a person needs – a safe space to experience one’s physical being, a reminder of the cycle of rebirth, the awe of discovering the infinite space in one’s heart, and the infinite love that unites generations and timelines. From the sauna to the hot stones and steam in the tiny dark room are the elements that unite us all – from the indigenous peoples of Siberia to the Americans and everyone in between.”
In addition to the traditional sauna rituals, she also conducts festive and special bridal saunas, which incorporate old traditions and give the bride at the gateway to a new life a long, warm kiss.
Kaupo Sõrmus
Kaupo is a master sauna maker and a dedicated bearer of sauna traditions.
He himself has been closely and deeply involved with the sauna since childhood. It was through a great love of sauna that his vocation developed. For him, the sauna is a sacred place.
He says he does sauna rituals because in today’s fast-paced world, people need to connect with themselves. And the sauna is one of the safest journeys, where you trust yourself and your surroundings. The sauna is the place where one can silence one’s mind from all the external noise and wander into one’s inner cosmos.
Through Kaupo’s sauna journeys, you can reconnect with your inner strong self and take that feeling into your everyday life.
Through rituals, he wants to give himself a deep connection with the essence of the sauna. And the knowledge of how the sauna has carried us for hundreds and hundreds of years.
In his rituals Kaupo uses shaman drums, sounds, auras and of course witches. Everything is done through feeling and according to what people want and need at the moment.
