Pühali Sacred Grove
The Pühali Sacred Grove was created to honour our ancestors and strengthen our connection with one another.
Urmas Sõõrumaa, the founder and visionary behind the Pühali Sacred Grove, describes its creation like this: “Just as a sacred grove takes shape over time, the idea of creating this shared circle also grew within me over many years of planting trees. I realised that what I plant today will continue to grow for centuries, connecting many generations.”
It is easy to relate to a tree. Its roots reach into the past, its crown grows towards the future, and we stand as the trunk — the living connection between generations. Every tree has its own unique character, just like every person. Trees can also become a way of honouring and connecting with those who came before us.
The Pühali Sacred Grove was planted on 15 May 2021.
The Pühali Sacred Grove is located on the edge of the Pühali Resort. Everyone is welcome to walk among the trees, reflect and simply be.
