Sweat tent and Indian sauna
Pühali Wellness Center is waiting for you to experience a completely different sauna experience in the middle of the beauty of nature!
Sweat tent and Indian sauna
In Indian culture, the “sauna-church” is a place of ritual communication with oneself and the world. This has been done through the millennia to support new beginnings or to end old ones. Sweat lodge is also done to heal oneself, loved ones or the world. Communication in a higitelg takes place through songs, prayers, experiencing oneself. Separate tents can be made for women, men, children, or the whole community together.
A higitelk is very similar in nature to the Estonian cave sauna or the earth sauna, which is the forerunner of the smoke sauna.
At the Pühali Good Life Centre you can book a higitelk ceremony for your group by prior arrangement with the best practitioners in the field. You can find out more about the performers here.

Ivo Reinok
Ivo is a freelance actor and musician who found his way to the rituals of the sweat lodge through personal quests. “For me personally, these have been very healing experiences. And I wanted to offer these experiences to others.”
The dome-shaped sweat stick symbolises the motherwort. By singing and praying together in the dark and the heat, it is possible to experience a kind of rebirth. Temazcal comes from the Nahuatl word temāzcalli, which means ‘hot house’. Temazcal/higitelgi cleansing rituals originate from Meso and North America and are more than 5000 years old.
