At P\u00fchali Resort, you have the opportunity to experience the ancient practice of darkness retreat in specially designed soundproof rooms built into the hillside.
By removing external stimuli almost entirely, the Dark Room creates an environment that encourages deep inner stillness, self-reflection and reconnection with your authentic self. When the constant flow of external information disappears, silence allows your attention to naturally turn inward.
Many guests leave feeling deeply rested, mentally refreshed and emotionally lighter. Some experience profound spiritual insights, while others discover new ideas, creative inspiration or simply the rare opportunity to hear their own inner voice again.
Each Dark Room includes a comfortable bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and shower. You may choose to enhance your stay with guided sound healing practices and specially prepared nourishing meals, or experience complete silence by bringing your own food or choosing to fast.
There is no fixed duration for the retreat. Most guests stay between four and seven days, although shorter or longer stays are also possible. <\/p>

Pi Gu Fasting<\/h4>

Pi Gu is an ancient Taoist fasting practice traditionally used during advanced spiritual retreats. Literally meaning “avoiding grains”, it also encourages abstaining from meat and processed foods. This nutritional approach supports the body’s natural cleansing and healing processes. <\/p>

The Pi Gu diet complements Dark Room meditation practices, helping to deepen spiritual awareness and strengthen inner resilience.<\/p>

The Six Healing Sounds practice is based on the teachings of Taoist master Mantak Chia. This traditional Taoist practice helps release negative emotions stored in the body while cultivating positive emotional balance. <\/p>

Modern life exposes most people to ongoing stress, which is often linked to a wide range of physical and emotional health challenges. One traditional Taoist method for relieving stress is the practice of the Six Healing Sounds.
